Broadstairs is located in Kent, between Margate and Ramsgate and is lovely seaside resort. It comes from the Anglo Saxon word “Bradstow(e)” but changed into the “broad stairs” carved in the chalk cliff that led to the 12th century shrine of St Mary.

It is really by the 1850s that the holiday industry started with professional classes taking an interest in the area.

There are trails throughout the town. The Town Trail is a self-guided walk letting you discover the history of the area at your own pace, whilst the Broadstairs historical walks take place on most Saturdays and last about 90 minutes.

Broadstairs and St Peter’s are proud of the vast array of events and attractions, suitable for everyone and every taste. Amongst them, we can list the Folk Week, the Dickens Festival, the Crampton Tower Museum, the Dickens Museum and the Sea Sunday.

Broadstairs boasts to have seven lovely, sandy beaches with chalk cliffs for background .

The shopping experience is quite enjoyable with various shops from homeware to quality items such as shoes, fine wines and antique shops.

Amongst its most famous people, Charles Dickens was a frequent visitor and Bleak House is where he wrote David Copperfield.
