Bude has been a popular holiday destination since the Victorian times. It is located in the West country, at the top of the county. It is a special place “Where coast meets countryside”.
Bude and its surroundings boast a wide selection of holiday activities wether you choose a relaxing break or a more active one. Family holidays with attractions and adventure parks, and all the open-air activities such as cycling, walking, golf, bird watchin, surfing and many more.
Bude is renowned for its lovely beaches, some of the best in the country and with it own eco climate (low rainfall and long sunshine hours), it is the ideal place to visit all year round. Enjoy Widemouth Bay with two miles of sand when low tide, ideal for families but also for surfers thanks to its big waves. Sandymouth Bay has some georgeous cliffs and is wonderful for young children since it has good rock pools. Crackington Haven is a small cove with spectacular high cliffs and is a mix of shingle, pebbles and sand. Summerleaze Beach is the nearest to the town centre and can get very busy in summer. It is surrounded by dunes and the town’s canal on the other side.
The surrounding villages are delightful and all very picturesque.
