About Dawlish

Dawlish is located on the south coast of Devon. It is conveniently situated between Exeter (10 miles) and Torquay (also 10 miles) and only 15 miles from Dartmoor National Park. It is famous for its black swans.

It is a popular Victorian seaside town that provides the ideal touring base for the area. It dates back from Saxon times but the buildings are from the various eras throughout its history.

There are some wonderful beaches, such as award European Blue Flag Award Dawlish Warren and Coryton Cove, once called Gentleman’s Cove which is ideal for families and easy walking distance from the town, there are plenty to do such as exploring rock pools, seabirds watching and catching mackerel.

The town centre offers high street shops and also some independent shops in a relaxing environment. The places to eat are catering for various tastes and include traditional pubs, cafes and restaurants.

The rivulet, more commonly known as 'Dawlish Water' or 'The Brook' which runs through the town will let you admire the town’s famous black swans (enblem of the town form over forty years) and other species of waterfowl.

The Dawlish Museum displays several collections donated by the people of Dawlish.

Dawlish Warren are for attractions lovers, with two amusement arcades, a miniature fairground with slides, dodgens and Go-Kart racing.
