Elgin counts as one of the smallest and oldest cities in Scotland and has a long tumultuous history. It seems that Elgin was isolated from the rest of Scotland by the rivers Spey and Findhorn.

6 miles from Elgin, discover Pluscarden Abbey, a most intriguing and peaceful attraction as it is the only medieval monastery in the country that is still occupied by the Monks.
The Motor Museum is located in mill buildings where you can see the cars of the past.
Fancy a beautiful cashmere knitwear? Head for the Johnstons Cashmere which specialises in luxury items, there is a visitor centre.
Elgin famous buildings are located on the High Street, Thunderton House, which started as a royal residece is now a pub.
