About Malvern

Malvern comes from the Celtic name “Moel-bryn” meaning bare-hill and part of the Malvern Hills are designated as an area of Oustanding Natural Beauty.

This lovely place has a lot to offer beyond landscape and the attractions in the area are full of history. Join the tours and walks such as the Teme Valley Tour.

The Great Malvern Priory, founded in 1085 is a magnificent parish church and contains the finest collections of stained glass after York Minster and Medieval floor and wall tiles. You will be able to attend concerts and civic services. It was preliminary built for 30 monks but its fate changed with the arrival of King Henry VIII.

The Malvern Museum gives insight on the structure of the Malvern Hills together with the history of the town and of the waters.

Malvern area is famous all over the world, the Queen drinks it and a lot of visitors still travels a long way to collect water from various springs. It is in the 1800s that drinking the water was fashionable and the area developed with many hotels, baths and other related establishments. Holy Well was most popular at that time but St Ann’s Well was closer to the bath house and Water Cure establishments of Great Malvern.
