The village of Wickham was known to the Romans, who had a marching camp here. It became a manor under the Anglo Saxons and after the Norman invasion was held by a succession of "Lords of the Manor" until very recently.
People have lived in Wickham for over 4000 years. It has a medieval square with many shops, three Pubs, a Wine Bar, Takeaways and Restaurants, all of which sell excellent food.
